Outliers ACT® Prep Scholarship
This is an opportunity for a hardworking, financially disadvantaged student to have all costs covered for our 13-week ACT prep program.

Requirements
for Applicants
- Weighted GPA of 3.8 or higher.
- An official ACT score. (The score itself doesn’t matter; we just need a baseline. Last year’s winner started with a 17.)
- Receives free or reduced lunch.
- Has a teacher or administrator who can vouch for an excellent academic work ethic. (No letter of recommendation is required. We will contact them directly if the student is a finalist.)
- Plans to attend a four-year college or university.
- Registers for and takes the ACTs and Mock ACTs designated for that class (paid for personally or with a voucher).
- All applicants must submit a one-minute video that convinces us of the following:
- The applicant has a strong academic history.
- The applicant is a positive role model for their peers.
- The applicant will do their best to be an exemplary student in our program.
- All applicants must be able to make the following commitments, which are required of all students (scholarship and non-scholarship) in our program:
- Be honest.
- Be coachable.
- Be committed to:
- Checking in every day of the program. (This process is explained in class and takes less than one minute per day.)
- Completing a minimum of 1.5 hours per day of ACT prep homework, with one day off per week. (Our best students typically do 1.5–2 hours per day.)
- Completing the full program. Our program is challenging, and most students want to quit at some point. Students must commit to finishing regardless of how they feel. Fewer than 5% of students quit; all students are capable of completing the program if they stay committed.
- Keeping a “find-a-way” attitude toward hitting their goal score each week. Students are responsible for their own scores and must actively work to get up, over, around, or straight through whatever obstacles stand in their way.
How we will choose the scholarship winner
- Who is most likely to be successful in our program?
- Who has worked the hardest and smartest so far to set themselves up for success in life?
- Who is doing their best to live as a genuinely great person?
The deadline to submit the application and video is one month prior to the start date of the class the student is applying for. The winner will be announced two weeks before the class begins.
