Welcome to Outliers ACT® Prep
(Formerly known as ACTprep.com)
At Outliers ACT® Prep, we don’t just help students improve their ACT® scores—we help them get into their dream colleges, secure scholarships to pay for them, and grow as learners along the way. The hardest part of ACT® prep is putting in the work, which is why our team-based system keeps students engaged and consistent. Our program is also one of the most relationship-focused in the nation, with coaches in contact with their students nearly every day.
Our web app makes studying more efficient by identifying each student’s knowledge gaps, allowing them to focus on mastering the material that matters most. And with our five-point increase guarantee, working with us is truly risk-free. If your student puts in the effort and doesn’t achieve at least a 5-point composite increase, we’ll provide free sessions until they do—or give part or all of your money back, whichever you think is fair.
But the biggest reason to choose us? Results. More than 70% of students who complete the recommended hours see at least a 5-point composite increase or reach a 32 superscore. Considering each ACT® point is worth, on average, $2,500 in additional scholarships over four years, even a single extra point beyond what other programs deliver can more than cover the cost of our program.
Still not convinced? Here are a few more reasons families choose Outliers. We’re one of the few programs in the nation officially recommended by the ACT. We hold a perfect five-star rating on Google. And every one of our coaches has earned a 34 or higher superscore on an official ACT. We’d love to help your student join the thousands who have already found success in our program!
The way our program works is simple: students can choose between a 13-week program or a year-long program. The 13-week program comes with a guarantee of at least a 5-point composite increase—up to a 32 superscore. The year-long program guarantees at least a 6-point increase—up to a 34 superscore—and it begins with the full 13-Week Core program. So, let’s begin by discussing the 13-Week Core program.
13-Week Core Programs
The 13-Week Core program covers English, math, and reading, with an optional science section. Classes meet on Sundays from 4–6 p.m. ET. Students from across the country join live via Zoom, while those near Knoxville, TN, can attend in person at Pellissippi State, where the class is live-streamed.
Classes focus on “training students how to train.” While content is taught, the main goal is to model how students should study on their own during the week—so they get the greatest return on the time they invest.
The real progress happens between classes. Students complete 1.5 to 2 hours of work per day, with one day off each week. Each day’s assignments are laid out in the app in order, so there’s never any guesswork—students simply log in and follow the plan.
Every week includes multiple diagnostic tests—at minimum a midweek and end-of-week test—that pinpoint the areas each student most needs to improve. The rest of the study time is spent mastering modules tied to those areas, eliminating busywork and creating a fully customized program. Students also have video explanations for almost every question they miss on each section of the ACT. In math, they gain an extra edge with unlimited AI-generated practice problems and interactive explanations, powered by our integration with ChatGPT.
Throughout the process, coaches review student work, provide feedback, answer questions, and give encouragement—whatever it takes to keep students on track toward their goal scores. Meanwhile, the app continuously updates projections and tracks progress, keeping students, coaches, and parents all aligned and moving forward together.

31+ & 34+ Guaranteed Year-Long Programs
The year-long program is our most powerful option and has the potential to completely transform a student’s trajectory. We guarantee at least a 6-point increase—up to a 34 superscore—but many students who complete the full year see gains of 8 to 10 points.
The year-long program allows students to remain in the program for up to one year, though most reach their goal score in about six months. After the initial 13 weeks—where we completely rebuild a student’s foundation from the ground up—the program becomes much more flexible. Students are only expected to do about one hour per day with two days off each week, and they can pause for as many weeks or even months as needed.
The structure mirrors the 13-Week Core program, but during this extended period we typically focus on one subject at a time leading up to each ACT test date. The goal is to optimize every section to maximize the student’s superscore.
Throughout the year, students work with a dedicated coaching team that helps shape their training, adjust strategies, and ensure they are spending their time as effectively as possible.

Ideal Prep Time
For Seniors -
If your student hasn’t started prepping yet, now is the time! The December ACT® is typically the last test many schools accept for admissions. However, many schools allow students to retake the ACT® after application deadlines to boost their scholarship opportunities. Starting prep now ensures your student can take advantage of these final opportunities. For Juniors -
The earlier you start, the more time you have to reach your target score. Starting prep now gives you a strong foundation heading into senior year, offering plenty of time to retake the test if needed and maximize your admissions chances and scholarship potential. For Sophomores -
In our experience, sophomore year is the ideal time for most students to begin prep, even if they haven’t completed Algebra 2 and Geometry. Early prep gives students a significant advantage—many of our students score 34 or higher before the junior year even begins. In addition to setting you up for ACT® success, early prep helps you excel on the PSAT, become eligible for dual enrollment, and stand out for programs like Governor’s School. For Freshmen and Younger -
Nearly every student who has completed our program during their freshman year or earlier has finished high school with a 33 or above. Learning the study skills and techniques we teach early in high school gives students a tremendous advantage. If your students are ready for the challenge and committed to doing the work, we’d love to have them on a team!
